A vandal stole several extension cords overnight from the Superior school bus garage on Hill Avenue.

The theft of the permanently fixed cords, which had to be cut before they were taken, was discovered at about 7 a.m. today.

It will cost about $400 to replace the cords, which are used to keep the buses’ engines warm on the coldest days of winter, said Thomas Geisler, the district’s transportation director.

Superior school buses are parked at the city garage at 2301 Hill Ave.
