More than seven months after being charged, a Duluth man was found not guilty on Thursday of sexually assaulting a preteen girl.

A St. Louis County District Court jury deliberated for 40 minutes before finding Cory Glendon Garden, 32, not guilty of the four felony criminal sexual conduct charges as well as two lesser charges, said his attorney, Richard Holmstrom.

“We’re very pleased,” Holmstrom said of the verdict. “After months of worrying and fretting over this, an innocent man is found not guilty, as he should be.”

Assistant St. Louis County Attorney Gary Bjorklund prosecuted the case, which was heard in front of Judge Shaun Floerke. Bjorklund did not immediately return a phone call seeking comment
