UWS beats Stevens Point
Wisconsin-Superior used power-play goals from Kaiti Graham and Alison Shrift, as well as an empty-net score from Dani Schultz to propel the Yellowjackets to a 3-1 victory over Wisconsin-Stevens Point in a women’s Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game Friday night in front of 192 spectators at Superior’s Wessman Arena.
Graham scored at 17:03 of the first period. Michelle Lunneborg tied the game for Stevens Point at 13:56 of the second, but Shrift tallied the game-winner at 8:59 of the third and Schultz notched an empty-netter in the final 20 seconds of the game.
Shanley Peters made 19 saves for the Yellowjackets (10-5-2 overall, 9-3-1 NCHA), while Janna Beilke-Skoug stopped 25 shots for the Pointers (9-7-2, 8-4-1).
