Wisconsin-Superior comes up short in WIAC game

Dustin Ritchie scored a game-high 19 points for Wisconsin-Superior, but Wisconsin-Platteville withstood a second-half rally from the Yellowjackets to win the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game 69-62 Saturday afternoon at Bo Ryan Court in Platteville.

UWS (11-8 overall, 5-4 WIAC) trailed 39-28 at halftime but outscored the Pioneers (10-8, 4-5) 34-30 in the second half.

Ben Aalfs and Brendan Bauer scored 15 and 10 points, respectively, for UWS, while Chas Cross led the Pioneers with 18.

  • The St. Scholastica trio of Brett Tester, Chris Hamers and Derek Steve led the Saints to a 71-51 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference victory over Northwestern on Saturday evening at Reif Gym.

    Tester, who went over 1,000 points for his career, led all scorers with 19 points, while Hamers drilled five 3-pointers for 15 points. Steve added 13 for the Saints (7-9 overall, 4-1 UMAC).

    Wade Chitwood led Northwestern (8-8, 3-2) with 18 points.
