Parts of the Northland may be waking up this morning to a sight rarely seen this winter: several inches of snow.
As of Saturday evening, the National Weather Service in Duluth had issued a winter weather advisory for areas north of Duluth, including the Iron Range, International Falls and the North Shore, for the overnight hours through midday today. The forecast called for up to 3 to 5 inches of snow.
Lesser snowfall totals of 1 to 3 inches were forecast for the Twin Ports. There is a chance that some freezing drizzle may mix in with the snow today. Highs today should reach the middle to upper 20s in the Twin Ports.
There will be continuing chances of light snow across the region tonight and Monday.
