Our partners at Northland’s NewsCenter want you to know about Duluth’s drive to help nearly 100 homeless people.
The Duluth Area Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Duluth and the Homeless Project will host two supply drives to collect essentials and personal-hygiene products. The drives are 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Walmart in Hermantown and Feb. 4 at the Walmart in Superior.
Volunteers will collect items until Feb. 15 at the Voyageurs Area Council (Boy Scouts) main office, Gloria Dei Church and any US Bank location. Monetary donations also will be accepted.
The group is in need of adult gloves and mittens, socks (wool preferred), fleece winter hats and scarves, adult long underwear, bottled water, granola bars, nonperishable snacks, soap bars, shampoo, toilet paper, sleeping bags, tarps and tents, can openers, first-aid kits, backpacks, blankets, hand warmers (chemical), and candles.
