Baby born en route to Duluth hospital

A baby was born in a vehicle Tuesday night on Interstate 35 near the Lincoln Park neighborhood, authorities said.

A baby was born in a vehicle Tuesday night on Interstate 35 near the Lincoln Park neighborhood, authorities said.

Duluth firefighters responded at 8:49 p.m. to a call reporting that a woman had given birth in a vehicle on I-35 and then had been driven to Duluth Fire Station No. 2 at 2627 W. Superior St., according to Acting Assistant Fire Chief Jerry Keppers.

The 24-year-old woman and baby seemed in fine health, Keppers said. Both were transported to a Duluth hospital.
