UWS choirs perform in Duluth
The University of Wisconsin-Superior Music Department holds its Choirs Concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 1720 E. Superior St., Duluth.
The first choir concert of the spring semester will feature the A Capella Choir joined by an ensemble of singers from the Minnesota Chorale performing Leonard Bernstein's "Chichester Psalms." The Chamber Choir will perform a set of a capella music.
"In this program, audience can expect to experience a musical journey of reflection, healing, community," said Katherine Chan, visiting director of choral activities and assistant professor of music at UWS.
The choirs will be accompanied by UWS professor Tom Hamilton, organ, UW-Superior Music Department chairman, Brett Jones, percussion, Janelle Lemire, harpist, and Julian Robbins, boy soprano.
This performance will also include "Indodana," by Michael Barrett and Ralf Schmitt, and "Hymn to the Eternal Flame," by Stephen Paulus, along with many others.
