Singers, youth chorus perform after music immersion

More than 100 select singers in grades 4-6, representing schools from all around Northern Minnesota and Wisconsin, join the Lake Superior Youth Chorus singers and directors for a day of choral music immersion.

Area music teachers also attend workshops during the day, presented by Dr. Karen Howard, assistant professor of music at the University of St. Thomas. The day concludes with a concert at 4 p.m. Saturday in the Duluth East High School Auditorium, 301 N. 40th Ave. E.

"The enthusiasm displayed by students, teachers and parents for our fourth Honor Choir has been overwhelmingly positive, said Bret Amundson, artistic director. "We are excited to bring together so many young singers and provide them with an unforgettable and musically-enriching experience."
