Marcus Theatres rolls out free mobile ticket app

Marcus Theatres, a division of The Marcus Corporation, has rolled out a new and improved mobile app that allows users to purchase tickets for any Marcus Theatre using their smartphones. The app is available at no cost in the Apple App Store or through the Android Market.

Marcus Theaters in the Twin Ports include Superior Value Cinema at the Mariner Mall in Superior, Duluth Cinema in Canal Park and Lakes Cinema in Hermantown.

The new graphical interface is easy to navigate and includes many features designed to simplify and streamline the process of selecting and purchasing tickets for a movie. Users can search for theatres or movies from the app's home page. The app can list theatres that are within 25 miles of the users location, or search by zip code or city/state. Users can scroll through the theatres to see what is playing at each one, view trailers, get detailed movie information and even buy tickets.

"The entire ticket purchase can now take place on your smart phone," said Rolando Rodriguez, president and CEO, Marcus Theatres Corporation. "Your ticket will appear on your phone's screen so there is no need to print anything, simply show your phone at the box office where the cashier will scan it for admission."

Enhancements to the new app include an archive of movies you have attended and the ability to securely store credit card information for future purchases. The app also allows users to buy tickets with a Marcus Theatres gift card. Another benefit for users is that when reserved seating is offered they can select the exact seat they want.

"Marcus Theatres is constantly looking for ways to improve our customers' experience," continued Rodriguez. "Our customers expect the latest in technology from Marcus Theatres, whether it's a razor sharp picture, crystal clear digital sound or 3D. This app uses mobile technology to make the process of selecting a movie and purchasing a ticket as easy and convenient as possible."
