Symphonic Band performs in Thorpe Langley
The University of Wisconsin-Superior Music Department hold its Symphonic Band concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Thorpe Langley Auditorium.
The concert, entitled "Over the Hills and Far Away: Great works of the past and a new look beyond," includes pieces that celebrate elements of the human spirit including joy, contemplation, celebration and tradition. Works include "Children's March," by Australian composer Percy Grainger, "O Magnum Mysterium," by American composer, Morten Lauridsen, "God of our Fathers," by American composer Claude T. Smith, and "Pregon," by Colombian composer Victoriano Valencia Rincon.
Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and free for students. The Thorpe Langley Auditorium is located in Old Main, 1710 Weeks Ave., Superior. For information, call (715) 394-8115 or email email@example.com.
