Yellowjacket women win 2 in Florida
The UW-Superior softball team won two games on Friday in Fort Myers, Fla., defeating Stevens 4-2 in the first game and Franklin and Marshall 4-2 in the second.
In the first game, against Stevens, Elle Niemela had a two-RBI single and Sally Linzmeier stole home to help put the Yellowjackets up 4-0. Nicolle Gross allowed five hits over seven innings for her fourth win of the season. Jessica Rees had a two-RBI single in the sixth inning for Stevens.
In the second game, UWS was down 2-0 going into the bottom of the sixth inning, but Haley McNeil, Sasha Fjeran, Linzmeier and Katie Wilke all had RBIs to put the Yellowjackets up for good. Sarah Hendrickson allowed six hits and struck out six over six innings for UWS (6-4).
