Winter releases its grip on Superior
Winter is finally over. Superior shook off the last remnants of this year’s long, cold, snowy season over the weekend.
The city’s snow dump on Mortorelli Drive was completely melted as of Monday, the Superior-Douglas County Chamber of Commerce reported today.
As part of the Chamber’s Snowpocalypse campaign, local residents and out-of-towners were encouraged to guess when the snow would finally leave Superior.
The two winners are Gerry Olson of Superior, who guessed July 7, and Leslie Filteau of Sheboygan, Wis., who guessed July 8. Both will receive passes and gift certificates from local businesses, as well as bragging rights.
