UWS edges Stout, hosts Point tonight
Michael Rey scored two goals to lift Wisconsin-Superior to a 3-2 win over Wisconsin-Stout in a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest on Friday in Menomonie, Wis.
The Yellowjackets’ Anton Svensson also scored a power-play goal while Pat Dalbec, Andy Singerhouse, Cody Hotchkin and Jordan Neduzak all recorded an assist. Goalie Dayn Belfour made 32 saves for UWS (8-13-3 overall, 3-6-2 WIAC).
Hunter Scott and Logan Maly each scored a goal, and Cory Koop stopped 34 shots for Wisconsin-Stout (8-17, 4-8).
With the win, the Yellowjackets locked up the fourth seed in the WIAC tournament and
Stout will be the fifth seed, so the two teams will play each other again in the first round of the tournament on Tuesday in Superior.
Superior wraps up the regular season by hosting UW-Stevens Point at 7:05 p.m. today at Wessman Arena.
