CASS LAKE, Minn. -- This year’s U.S. Capitol Christmas tree has been selected from the Chippewa National Forest in Minnesota.
Staff from the Capitol and U.S. Forest Service visited the forest in late July to narrow down dozens of candidates to the final selection. Another tree also was selected as a backup in case something happens to the first, such as a lightning strike.
