The Twin Ports Rampage 12u softball team qualified for the ASA/USA National Tournament in Bloomington, Ind., thanks to a first-place finish at the Fast & Furious Tournament last weekend in Forest Lake, Minn.

Fresh off their first-place finish in Chisago Lakes, Minn., the Rampage won the tournament championship in Forest Lake with a 6-0 record.

During Saturday’s pool play, the Rampage defeated White Bear Lake 12-0, Big Lake 9-5 and Forest Lake Gold 11-2 to earn the No. 1 seed out of their pool and advance them to the eight-team Gold Division for bracket play.

After a rain delay, the Rampage came out firing on all cylinders Sunday afternoon with a 7-3 win over Woodbury and then in a 1-0 win over the Forest Lake Rangers for a berth in the championship game against Soderville A.

In the title game, the Rampage fell behind 1-0 in the top of the first inning, and the score remained the same until the bottom of the last inning when the Rampage plated two runs and won the championship game in dramatic walk-off fashion.

The ASA/USA National tournament is in Bloomington, Ind., July 27 to Aug. 3.

The 12U Rampage will be back in action at this weekend’s Superior Ice Breaker tournament.

Team members include: Kylli Rajala, Mackenzie Correll, Hayley Spradau, Gabby Blomdahl, McKenzie Lehto, Hannah Mihalik, Madysen Stariha, Peyton Fath, Paige Lach, Erica Eller and Madison Sislo. They are coached by Joe Stariha, Mike Mihalik and Tony Sislo.
