Superior police investigate allegations of child abuse
Superior police are investigating a child abuse case involving a 3-month-old child and his 24-year-old father.
On Monday night , police responded to a Superior address in reference a report of physical abuse to a child. Upon officer’s arrival at the scene, they met with the mother and the child and began assessing the reported injuries to the child. Initial observations by the responding officers showed that the child had suffered some human bite marks on various locations of his body.
The child’s injuries are limited to bruising at the location of the bites on the legs, torso and face, according to Police Chief Charles LaGesse. He was released to the mother’s care after medical assessment and treatment.
The father was also on scene at the time and was taken into custody. He was transported to the Douglas County Jail and will make an initial appearance in Douglas County Circuit Court on Wednesday.
