Bryce Franklin Miller, 57, faces five counts felony possession of child pornography. He was released on a $5,000 signature bond and ordered to have no contact with minors. The charges stem from a computer seized from Miller’s former Foxboro residence in January 2012.

According to the criminal complaint:

A forensic analysis identified more than 200 images of possible child pornography on the computer. After review by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children Child Victim Identification Program, 15 images were found to contain known child victims, five of which were confirmed as containing children younger than age 18 at the time the images were created.

When questioned in April by Douglas County Detective John Parenteau, Miller admitted he had viewed child pornography on the computer. He said he did it because he was curious to see if he could stop it and wanted to see if it was local. He told Parenteau that he wasn’t trying to view it for pleasure as much as he was trying to figure out a way he could “put a lock on it.”

Miller’s next court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday.
