Sports broadcaster critically injured in crash
MILWAUKEE (AP) -- A Milwaukee sports broadcaster has been critically injured in a car crash involving an apparent drunken driver.
WISN-TV (http://bit.ly/1gNaHA0 ) reports Steve "The Homer" True is hospitalized with a serious head injury. True is a sports talk show host on Milwaukee's ESPN station WAUK and does play-by-play for Marquette University basketball, a job he's held for more than 20 years.
True previously worked for WISN-TV. Police tell the station True's car was struck at a Milwaukee intersection Wednesday, on his 59th birthday, by a driver who ran a red light and was apparently intoxicated.
Marquette athletic director Larry Williams says the entire university is praying for True and his family.
