Spartans get best of Blue Devils
The Superior High School boys hockey team spotted Virginia-MIB a 2-0 lead, then scored five unanswered goals for a 5-2 victory Tuesday night before a Wessman Arena crowd of around 400.
Aaron Miller had a hand in all of the Spartans’ scoring with three goals and two assists. Daniel Mikel added a goal and an assist, Tyler Nystrom scored a goal and Bryan Bergstrom picked up an assists.
With the win the Spartans improve to 10-10 on the season.
Paxton Paine had 20 saves in picking up the win for the Spartans, who improve to 10-10 on the season.
Alex Lackner and Ville Heikkala scored for the Blue Devils and Lucas Murray finished with 21 saves.
Superior’s next is at Hudson Saturday afternoon. The Raiders are currently favored to get the section’s No. 1 seed for the upcoming playoffs.
