The Raiders also got a goal from Katie Meierotto and four assists from Paige Johnson.

Amanda Hinaus, Devyn Moss, Emma Peterson and Kali Krivinchuk scored for the Spartans (2-1), who suffered their first loss of the season.

Julia Joseph picked up the win in goal for Hudson with 27 saves. Missy Walkowiak had 38 saves for Superior.

The Spartans scored the only goal of the first period when Hinaus intercepted a pass in the neutral zone, skated toward the goal and scored on a shot from the left circle.

Takkunen gave Hudson a 2-1 lead with two goals in the first 2:32 of the second period.

Superior tied it up at 4:05 of the second period when Moss scored with helpers from Paige Harker and Peterson then took a 3-2 lead 27 seconds later on Peterson’s unassisted goal.

Hudson tied it up at 3-3 when Takkunen completed her hat trick, then took a 5-3 lead when Squires scored back-to-back shorthanded goals two minutes apart late in the middle period.

Superior got within 5-4 6:55 into the third period when Hinaus’ shot from the left point was defected over Joseph off the stick of Krivinchuk.

Hudson sealed its victory, and improved to 4-1, when Meierotto put a wrist shot over Walkowiak’s shoulder from the left circle with 6:12 remaining.

The Spartans are back in action at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Francis, Minn. They return home to host Proctor-Hermantown at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
