Solon Springs students perform with the pros
With help from some Solon Springs students, Opera for the Young presents an adaptation of Rossini’s “The Barber of Seville” at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Solon Springs School.
A chorus of elementary school students appear on stage, performing alongside Opera for the Young’s professional artist. The performance is open to the public.
The comic opera is set in the 1950s. It’s a riotous romp featuring a lovesick count, the blushing object of his affection, a crusty old doctor and Figaro, a motorcycle-riding rascal. Funding for the performance is provided by a 21st Century Community Learning Grant.
