Sislo called back up by Devils
The New Jersey Devils recalled Mike Sislo from the Albany Devils of the American Hockey League prior to Tuesday night’s game with the Buffalo Sabres.
Buffalo defeated New Jersey 3-2 in a shootout.
Sislo was inserted into the lineup to take the place of LW Ryane Clowe, who suffered an upper-body injury in Monday’s victory over Florida.
The former Superior Spartan had three shots and a hit in 10:41 of playing time.
Sislo also took the Devils' final shot in the shootout, but Sabre goaltender Nathan Lieuwen got his right pad on a back-hand attempt as New Jersey extended its NHL record to 15 straight shootout losses - including 11 this season
Buffalo snapped a four-game winless skid with just its second victory in 13 contests (2-10-1).
NOTES: Sislo is wearing No. 9. … The Albany Devils have eight games remaining in the regular season. … Sislo leads Albany with 23 goals and 16 assists in 57 games. … Clowe didn’t make the trip to Buffalo after taking a shot to the head in Monday's win over Florida, although team officials insisted the move was strictly precautionary. Clowe, who missed 32 games earlier this season because of a concussion, had six points in the last six games
