‘Sherlock’ returning to BBC for 3 new episodes, special
TheWrap.com - Sherlock returned from the dead this past season, and he'll live to fight at least another four episodes in 2015.
The BBC announced on Wednesday that the series, starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman as Sir Conan Arthur Doyle's famous crime-solving duo, will return for a special and three new episodes, which will begin production next year. Filming begins on the special in January 2015, while the fourth season will start rolling later in the year.
Series co-creator Steven Moffat revealed little in a press release, other than the fact that he knows how to get fans all hot and bothered, but did say that “we're reasonably confident that the very next thing to happen to Sherlock and John, is the very last thing you'd expect.”
Meanwhile, his co-creator, writer and executive producer Mark Gatiss gave a similarly empty quote, adding that the new episodes “will take Sherlock and John Watson into deeper and darker water than ever before.”
