Sheriff candidates to debate issues
Candidates for Douglas County sheriff will field questions about domestic violence and sexual assault from a panel of reporters at the University of Wisconsin-Superior’s Manion Theater tonight (Tuesday, July 29).
The hour-long forum sponsored by the Center Against Sexual and Domestic Abuse and Wisconsin Public Radio will be carried live on KUWS 91.3 FM at 7 p.m.
All three candidates have agreed to the debate. They include Democratic candidates Sheriff Tom Dalbec and Douglas County Supervisor Mark Liebaert and Republican candidate Lac Courte Oreilles Narcotics Investigator Dan Bethards.
UW-Extension Professor Emeritus Geof Wendorf moderates the debate. No questions will be taken from the audience.
The Democratic primary is Aug. 12 and the general election is Nov. 4.
