Saturday weather for Duluth and the Northland: Snow is coming

Northland's NewsCenter meteorologist Adam Clark.

TODAY: A weak low-pressure system in the jet stream this weekend will give us a 40 percent chance of a scattered rain-snow mix, with more rain to the south and more snow to the north of the Twin Ports. Expect west winds at 4-8 mph.

SUNDAY: Another low will push into Minnesota and give us a better chance of snow. A 60 percent chance of snow showers lasts into the afternoon. Snow will continue overnight and into Monday morning; 1-3 inches is possible north of the Twin Ports, but high road/ground temperatures will prevent accumulation.

MONDAY: A northwest wind could push some lake-enhanced snow on the South Shore and U.P. Expect a 50 percent chance of snow with gusty winds out of the northwest.

TUESDAY: A break from the precipitation, but not from the cold.
