The Green Bay Packers traded defensive end Jerel Worthy to the New England Patriots on Tuesday for a future, conditional draft pick.
Worthy, drafted at No. 51 overall out of Michigan State in 2012 has been slowed by injuries throughout his career. He has yet to practice this training camp because of a lower back injury.
He has appeared in only 16 games and seen limited action in those games. In the final game of this rookie year, he tore his ACL. He was on the physically unable to perform list to begin the 2013 season as he recovered from knee surgery. He finally saw action in November.
He has recorded 2 1/2 sacks in his injury-filled career.
