Matthew R. MacGregor
Matthew R. MacGregor, 37, Zimmerman, Minn. passed away Dec. 6, 2013, at home following a long illness.
Matt was born Sept. 4, 1976, in Duluth to Daniel and Leslie (Anderson) MacGregor. He graduated in 1995 from Elk River High School. He attended technical school and later became a master plumber.
Everything Matt did, he did well. He was always interested in cars and owned several high-performance vehicles, including his dream car, a 2006 BMW M3. He played youth hockey and later as a young adult bowled with a local team winning many tournaments. He loved golf and began hitting balls at the age of two. He enjoyed playing with his grandfather, Rolf, his friends and especially with his dad, from whom he learned much about the game. He also loved to fish with both his grandfathers and his dad and stepmother.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Rolf and Margaret Anderson, Spicer, Minn. and his paternal grandparents Robert and Helen MacGregor, Superior.
He will be missed by his mother, Leslie Anderson, Zimmerman, Minn. his father Daniel (Sherry) Macgregor, Superior, an aunt and uncle in Rochester, Minn., an aunt and uncle in Superior and two step uncles in Colorado, as well as many friends including special friends, the Grotte family, Elk River, Minn., as well as his cats Lexie and Junior.
A memorial service was held Dec. 12, 2013, at the Norwegian Lutheran Church in Minneapolis.
