Lorraine Jane (Cloutier) Peters

Lorraine Jane (Cloutier) Peters, 88, passed away on Dec. 26, 2013.

She was born Feb. 2, 1925 in Superior. She was baptized at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. She married Alvin Peters May 25, 1946.

Lorraine was a gifted piano player at age five. When she was a young lady, she sang on KDAL Radio. She was a musician, singer, entertainer in the Duluth/Superior area. She belonged to a group called The Entertainers. They entertained at various functions and charities.

She was a great yodeler and she wrote many songs with her Ukulele She sang, yodeled and played piano at some of the Ragtime Society functions. She wrote a fabulous book of Cloutier Genealogy for her family.

Lorraine is survived by her children, Joyce Hatanpa, Dayton, Minn. and Douglas Peters, Hutchinson, Minn.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and sisters Yvonne J. Cloutier and Lola O'Brien.

She is preceded in death by her husband Alvin Peters; parents Louis and Minnie Cloutier; brothers and sisters, Lou Stengard, Patricia Johnstad, Mary Ann Cloutier, Nancy Telega, Eugene Cloutier and John Cloutier.

A memorial service will be held on Feb. 1 at 1:30 p.m. at the Villa at Osseo, 501 2nd St. S.E., Osseo, MN 55369. Interment will be in the spring at St. Francis Cemetery.
