Lighthouse of Superior plans expansion
Less than four years after opening an 80-unit assisted living and memory care facility, Lighthouse of Superior announced Wednesday its expanding.
An affiliate of New Perspective Senior Living, Lighthouse of Superior holds a groundbreaking at noon Tuesday for its new assisted living program, Vivid Living.
The addition offers 32 seniors the opportunity to Live Life on Purpose®. It will also generate over 125 jobs during construction and about a dozen new full-time positions at the Lighthouse when it opens in the fall.
Located just blocks from Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Hospital, the Lighthouse of Superior addition will offer 32 apartments with a choice of studio, and one- and two-bedroom designs. Amenities include a new bistro to give residents and guests a street café experience; a new warm water therapy pool to help with strength and flexibility; and an expanded physical fitness center that includes equipment from Biodex to assist seniors with improving strength, balance, and gait, all factors in reducing falls.
“We are proud of how Superior and the surrounding communities have embraced the Lighthouse since we opened in 2010. Needing to expand to meet the demand for our services is very gratifying,” said Todd Novaczyk, New Perspective chief executive officer, in a prepared statement.
New Perspective opened the $11 million assisted living and memory care facility at 1915 N. 34th St. in October 2010. It features a variety of apartment floor plans in assisted living and memory care options for seniors. Amenities include a physical fitness center offering fitness and rehabilitation services; a variety of dining options including a restaurant-style dining room and pub; and ongoing social opportunities through activities in its dance hall, craft centers, or library.
“What’s most exciting to us is that our new addition gives us the ability to provide even greater resources to seniors,” Novaczyk said “including our Vivid Living approach to assisted living. The cornerstones of this program are the Vivid Living coordinator and life coaches who create, assist and monitor resident engagement in the activities proven to help seniors feel physically and mentally vibrant.”
