Library offers workshops during story time
Parents and grandparents are invited to two workshops held during Story Time at the Superior Public Library, at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday and April 1 11:15 a.m. in the Young Adult room adjoining the Children’s Department.
Sue DeNio, family and community support educator from the Douglas County University of Wisconsin-Extension gives tips for how to use children’s stories to teach children about important lifelong financial skills such as goal setting, problem solving and using resources. Each session will provide participants with handouts related to a specific book, which includes suggestions for age-appropriate questions to discuss and follow-up activities.
On April 8, as part of Money Smart Week, DeNio shares the stories with the children during Story Time, and each family in attendance will receive their own copy of one of the books.
