Lake Superior mysteries revealed
The Lake Superior Binational Forum has scheduled on open public meeting called “Mysteries of Lake Superior, from Top to Bottom” from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 28 at Barkers Island Inn, 300 Marina Drive, Superior. A separate arts reception starts at 5:30 p.m. called “Lake Superior, Mysteries, and the Arts.”
The meeting offers presentations by regional experts, artists, adventurers, business owners, scientists, Native Americans and others who are exploring some of the mysterious or unknown aspects of the Lake Superior basin that many people might not know about.
Presentations will highlight a wide range of topics--from cutting edge research to fun topics. Throughout the morning and afternoon, 25 concurrent sessions about mysterious findings from above the lake, on the water, in the water, on the lake bottom, and around the lake will be offered.
The full agenda is available on the forum’s web site at superiorforum.org under the meetings tab. All forum meetings are free and open to the public with no need to pre-register.
Members of the public are invited to an open public comment period starting at 4:30 p.m. on March 28. Anyone is welcome to express their comments about issues related to Lake Superior.
Starting at 5:30 p.m. at Barkers Island Inn, the Binational Forum will co-sponsor a 90-minute arts reception to celebrate the uniqueness of life around the lake as interpreted through visual and written arts. This event is free and light refreshments will be served.
