Prosecutors will not file charges in overdose death of musician Prince

Kenneth L. Lundgren

Kenneth L. Lundgren, 78, of Superior, went to be with his Lord Friday, May 9, 2014, while at Essentia Health Care with is family at his side.

Kenneth was born April 22, 1936, in Superior, Wis. to Murrell and Olive Lundgren. Ken grew up in the Allouez neighborhood of Superior and was an avid hockey enthusiast, coaching in the Superior Hockey Association for a number of years. After graduating from Superior East High School in 1954, he attended Wisconsin State College - Superior and graduated with a bachelor's degree in History and Biology. In 1957, he married his high school sweetheart, Beverly Thoreson, and together they had three children; Kenneth, Leonard and Linda. Ken and Beverly built their life together in Superior, Wis. spending time fishing, hunting, attending sporting events, cheering on Ken's beloved Packers, and tending to his cherished garden the fruits of which Ken took pride in sharing with both friends and family. Ken and Bev recently celebrated 56 years of marriage.

Ken was preceded in death by his brother, William (Joan) Lundgren, and sister Phyllis Banks.

Ken is survived by his wife, Beverly Lundgren, his brother Larry (Dorothy) Lundgren, his sister Karen (Roy) Thomas, sons Ken (Kris) Lundgren and Leonard Lundgren, daughter Linda (Scott) Corbin, four grandchildren, Megan and Ian Corbin and Kaci and Cole Lundgren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and relatives.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service Friday, May 16, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 4315 E. 3rd St., Superior, Wis.
