Johnson, Willmore named Youth Optimists
Sydney Johnson and Holden Willmore, juniors at Superior High School, were selected as the Superior Optimist Club Youth Optimists for November. Johnson participates in SALF Club, softball, basketball, FBLA, DECA, forensics and is a student council officer at the high school. She is a member of the Douglas County Chamber of Commerce Youth Leadership program and past member of the Scott Anderson Leadership Forum. She is a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She hopes to attend a four-year university after high school to pursue a degree in business or law. Sydney is the daughter of Chad and Denelle Johnson. Willmore participates in soccer, archery club, marching, pop and concert bands, serves as a photographer and Journalist at the Spartan Spin, and is an officer with the student council at the high school. He is a member of the Douglas County Chamber of Commerce Youth Leadership program and a past participant in Northland Youth Leadership and Northland Youth in Philanthropy. He received the Spartan Spirit Award for soccer. He also plays for AYSA soccer and is a member of the United Presbyterian Church youth group. He plans to attend a university to obtain a degree in American history and continue his education for a law degree. Holden is the son of Danelle Dulinski, and Jim and Christy Willmore. The students have been joining the Optimist Club for weekly luncheon meetings. They will have the opportunity next fall to apply for a $1,000 service award sponsored by the club.
