Sarah Hendrickson and Nicolle Gross provided stellar pitching as the UW-Superior softball team extended its winning streak to 11 games with a 4-0 victory over Wisconsin-Platteville and a 9-1 victory over Alfred State (N.Y.) on Friday in Fort Myers, Fla.

Hendrickson and Gross combined on the shutout in the first game, with Hendrickson scattering seven hits and striking out two in six innings. UWS only had four hits but took advantage of four walks and an error by Platteville (7-6). Haley McNeil led the offense with a double and run.

Gross was back on the mound against Alfred State (3-9), allowing just three hits and one run while striking out five in the five-inning victory. McNeil provided another double while Britnee Blake, Kristen Haider and Katie Wilke added two hits apiece for the Yellowjackets (15-4), who have won 15 of their past 16 games after starting the season 0-3.
