HealthCare.gov signups are up in Wisconsin
Deputy State Insurance Commissioner Dan Schwartzer says now more than 7,000 people have successfully bought plans through HealthCare.gov, up from less than 900 last month.
Schwartzer says the improvement in the website is good news for the 77,000 people who have to transition off of BadgerCare and buy plans on the exchange. He says the three-month delay for that transition approved by the state Assembly last week will help make the process easier.
"We're delighted to see that more folks are getting in," says Schwartzer. "We hope that the three-month extension will be enough time for people to sign up for coverage."
Schartzer says there is still a 10 percent error rate reported by health insurance providers in the exchange, but that it is also improving as the bugs are worked with the website.
