A fire at a Superior industrial building caused an estimated $100,000 in damage early Wednesday.
While arriving for work at about 3 a.m., employees at Swanstrom Tools, located at 3300 James Day Drive near the Mariner Mall, found smoke coming from the building and the fire alarm sounding, according to a report from the Superior Fire Department. Superior police reported smoke showing from the eaves and overhead doors. Superior firefighters located the fire in one corner of the production floor and extinguished it.
Equipment and inventory were damaged by the fire; there were no injuries. Three engines and one command vehicle with 11 firefighters responded to the blaze. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The fire department cleared the scene at 5:45 a.m.
