Everything old is new again at Habitat ReStore showcase
The Habitat for Humanity Twin Ports ReStore hosts Re-Purpose Art-Tastic Social 5-8 p.m. on Friday at 1621 Broadway St. in Superior. This event is free.
The social features “up-cycled” pieces local artists and community members created using items from the ReStore. The repurposed masterpieces are unveiled Friday and available for purchase through a silent auction.
All proceeds benefit the Western Lake Superior Habitat for Humanity to help support safe and affordable homes, make access ramps and give “A Brush With Kindness” to those in need throughout our communities.
“This is a great opportunity for people to come in and see that a cabinet door or a broken chair is not something to just throw away,” said Teresa Backes, ReStore manager. “Many things can serve more than one purpose; you just need a little imagination or a Pinterest account.”
“The ReStore is a salvage lover’s dream and a creative person’s playground — a place to share the joy of re-purposing, re-using, and re-inventing,” said Kelly Reed of Reed Graphics.
ReStore is a home improvement discount store featuring new, used and repurposed building materials and furnishings for sale to the public.
Western Lake Superior Habitat for Humanity relies on local donations to remodel and repair homes across the Twin Ports. If you are interested in lending a hand, making a donation, or want to know more, call 218-722-3875 or visit www.twinportshabitat.org.
