Events celebrate march on Washington, MLK

Community members, students and educational organizations are invited to free film screenings and a guest speaker presentation centered around the documentaries Freedom Riders and Slavery by Another Name are presented at 2 p.m. Monday at Zeitgeist Arts/Zinema 2 in downtown Duluth.

Duluth News-Tribune editor Robin Washington is the featured speaker at 6:30 p.m. with a question and answer session to follow.

The event is sponsored by Lake Superior College’s Erickson Library in conjunction with LSC’s Intercultural Center, Zeitgeist Arts, the University of Minnesota Duluth’s Kathryn A. Martin Library, and Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College.

It’s being held to mark the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King’s March on Washington.

All programs are free.
