Elizabeth "Betty" Jane Hill

Elizabeth "Betty" Jane Hill, 77, Superior, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2014, unexpectedly in her home.

She was born on June 24, 1936 in Milwaukee, Wis. to John and Kathryn (Oppright) Lebeck.

She graduated from high school in Milwaukee and where she went on to work at a publishing company.

Betty married George Hill on March 5, 1974 in Waukegan, Ill. and celebrated 40 years of marriage.

She was a homemaker and had also been employed as a retail sales associate for the former Prange Way and at Walmart. Betty owned and operated the former Our Place Consignment Store in Superior's East End for several years during the mid 80's.

Betty enjoyed traveling in her early years having travelled extensively to Florida and Alaska. She was an avid reader, enjoyed sewing and puzzles and was very interested in technology. In her younger years she enjoyed playing and teaching the accordion.

In addition to her husband George, Betty is survived by one daughter, Amy (Keith Johnson) Hill-Johnson, San Diego, Calif. and one grandson, Neil Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. until the 12 Noon memorial service on Saturday, May 17 in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5th St., Superior with Rev. Sarah Kerkes of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Betty's grandson, Neil Johnson will be recognized as an honorary pallbearer.
