Eddie Dean Albertus

Eddie Dean Albertus, 53, of Ashland, Wis., passed away, Friday, June 27, 2014 at the University of Minnesota-Fairview Hospital.

He was born September 23, 1960 in Mason City, Iowa, the son of Roy and Jeanette (Baldwin) Albertus.

Eddie attended schools in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and continued his schooling at WITC in Ashland where he received his HSED and an automotive certificate. Eddie was an Iron Worker and was head of Maintenance at the Hotel Chequamegon for 15 years.

Eddie loved music and was a musician for most of his life. He began taking guitar lessons at the age of 5 and won several competitions during his childhood. He also was a gifted singer who sang and played with several bands in numerous cities throughout the years.

Eddie lived life to the fullest and treasured all the times spent with his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, concerts, bowling, playing in the pool leagues, boogie boarding, having Viking parties and especially riding his Harley. He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.

He is survived by his partner for over 20 years, Michelle Wolfe of Ashland, Wis.; six children, Casey A. (Lee) Johnson, Christopher E. Albertus, Kenneth G. Albertus, Lauren Wolfe-Micek, Rachel Wolfe-Micek and special son, Mattchew Albertus; seven grandchildren, Eva, Rebecca, Alyssa, Desiree, Owen, Aiden, Emma Lee, and he was looking forward to his 8th grandchild, Wolfgang; sisters, Deborah Albertus of Wausau and Tandy (Dan) Otto-Defoe of Ashland, Wis.; special brother, Kris Karr; special person, LoAnn Johnson; and eight nieces and nephews, Shawnu, Nasheika, Carl, Amber, Vaughn, Mariah, Joseph and Cheyenne.

He was preceded in death by his parents; other mother and father, Bernard and Bertena Wolfe; and special brother, Thomas Swanson.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until the 10:30 a.m. memorial service on Saturday, July 5 at Frost Home for Funerals in Ashland with Gary Quaderer Sr. officiating.

A reception will follow the services at the AmericInn in Ashland.
