Today

Superior: Field Logic Haunted House offers free tours 6-10 p.m. today and Saturday at the company's warehouse, 1230 Poplar Ave. There is a not-so-scary showing for youngsters and the faint of heart from 12:30-3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Duluth: The Journey Coffee House offers open mike night and features artists Luke Krhin and Jim King at 6:30 p.m. at 9302 W. Skyline Parkway.

Solon Springs: Various Wisconsin churches invite everyone to hear Bruce VanNatta, author of "Saved by Angels" and "A Miraculous Life." Hear his life and death testimony. The event begins at 7 p.m. today, Saturday and Sunday at the Solon Springs Community Center, Business Highway 53. Free will offering accepted.

Saturday

Superior: The annual BID Pumpkin Patch event runs 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Center City Park, corner of Belknap Street and Tower Avenue. The first 200 children receive a free pumpkin, pumpkin decorating kit and color-it-yourself Halloween bag. Each child in a costume gets an extra treat bag. Families can enjoy a fall photo area to take family pictures.

Duluth: The Twin Ports Genealogical Society and Duluth Public Library present a Family History Jamboree from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Duluth Public Library's Green Room, 520 W. Superior St. Free.

Sunday

Superior: The Black River Bandits meet for Cowboy Fast Draw practice at 1 p.m. at the Head of the Lakes Fairground in the 4-H building. Anyone interested is welcome. The first shoot is free. Parents need to be present for shooters age 17 or younger. Go to www.blackriverbandits.org.

Duluth: Pilgrim Congregational Church, 2310 E. Fourth St., hosts a Harry Potter-themed Halloween party 5:30-8 p.m. Explore Diagon Alley, Hogsmeade and the Hogwarts Castle, and enjoy a myriad of activities and games ranging from silly to scientific. Free. Non-violent costumes only; no dementors please.

Monday

Duluth: La Leche League of Duluth offers a playgroup 10 a.m. to noon at First United Methodist Church (Coppertop), 230 E. Skyline Parkway. Children of all ages welcome. For information, call 218-499-9504.

Superior: St. Mary's Hospital Superior Auxiliary meets at 10 a.m. in the conference room. Plans for the Holiday Happenings and Bake Sale will be finalized. All articles for the fall newsletter are due.

Maple: Northwest Wisconsin Tobacco Free Coalition hosts a dinner and presentation beginning at 5 p.m. at the Maple Community Center. Local legislators plan to attend to listen about the spread of candy-flavored tobacco products. Free.

Superior: The 32nd annual Kevin Kadrmas Memorial Meatball Dinner runs 5-7 p.m. at Concordia Lutheran Church, 1708 John Ave. Tickets are $8 for adults, $3 for children ages 6-12, and free for children 5 and younger at the door. Carry outs available. Proceeds benefit Superior Special Olympics.

Tuesday

Duluth: "Autumn Birding Strolls with Erik Bruhnke at Park Point" begins at 7 a.m. at Sky Harbor Airport parking area. Free.

Superior: Superior CEP presents a workshop on "Networking Shape-Up" 10-11 a.m. in the Job Center conference room, 1805 N. 14th St., Suite 1. Free.

Duluth: The Core Ensemble performs chamber music called "Los Valientes" at 7:30 p.m. in the Mitchell Auditorium at the College of St. Scholastica. Free.

Thursday

Superior: Peter Pan, Tinkerbell and Captain Hook are handing out candy during the Superior Public Library's annual Trick or Treat event. The trip to Neverland is free, but little trick-or-treaters are asked to bring nonperishable food for the local food shelf. The event runs 10 a.m. to noon and 2-4 p.m.

Duluth: Fall Festival runs 6-8 p.m. for youth birth through sixth grade at Duluth Gospel Tabernacle. There will be a carnival, candy, crafts, food and prizes, plus a nonviolent costume contest for kids and adults. Free.

Superior: "Trunk & Treat" Halloween Fun!!! runs 5-7 p.m. at Concordia Lutheran Church's parking lot, 1708 John Ave., for Superior's youth. Diabetic friendly. Call 715-394-3762.
