Superior: Cooper Elementary School holds its second annual Cooper Trick-or-Trot 5K and 1-mile walk/run Saturday. Costumes are encouraged, but not required. A spaghetti dinner and silent auction runs 5:30-7 p.m. today. Registration for the race takes place at the dinner or 8 a.m. Saturday. A free Principal Chase for children begins at 9 a.m. with the 5K/1mile starting at 9:30 a.m. Information is available at www.superior.


Superior: The Field Logic Haunted House offers free tours 6-10 p.m. today and Saturday at the Field Logic warehouse, 1230 Poplar Ave. There is also a not-so-scary showing for youngsters and the faint of heart 12:30-3:30 p.m. Saturday. The event features 10,000 square feet of haunting good times.

Duluth: Living Faith International Church hosts a guest speaker Mark T. Barkley at 6:30 p.m. Take the I-35 Boundary Avenue exit. The church is immediately before McDonald's.


Duluth: A rummage sale to raise money for Wildwoods runs 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Central Hillside Community Center at Lake Avenue and Fourth Street. Rummage donations are taken Friday at the center. Every dollar raised helps Wildwoods, a nonprofit that helps rehabilitate orphaned and injured animals to return them to the wild.

Superior: Celebrate pets during an open house 1-4 p.m. at Superior Animal Hospital & Boarding Suites, 36 E. Second St. Activities include a behind-the-scenes tour of the facility, a pet costume contest, "teddy bear surgery" for stuffed animals in need of repair and the opportunity to watch spay and neuter surgeries and see a teeth cleaning performed.
