Christmas need not be stressful
Psychologists tell us; ironically, Christmas is a time of great stress and depression for many. Why is this so when we sing “Joy to the World” and “Peace on Earth, Good Will Toward Men”?
If we analyze the situation, it makes sense. The coming of the Son of God into the world was the greatest event in human history and provides love, joy and the peace that comes with forgiveness. God provided a way for us to be delivered from sin, by taking our sins upon his own son on the cross. Our part, as individuals, is to agree we are sinners, then to submit to His authority to receive forgiveness.
Our common problem is we often tend to cling to our independence from God and go on in our hopeless human nature, denying his truth and sovereignty. “Going to church” is not necessarily the answer. When we have a personal relationship with God, we “are the church.”
Read the Bible for yourself, seek the truth and talk with God. If you are sincere, you will experience new life and eternal life with him.
