Bullies focus of workshop

Bullying at school and work is the subject of a one-day workshop at Swenson Hall at the University of Wisconsin-Superior.

The program explores bullying in schools and workplaces including a complete youth to adult continuum. Presenters Maria Cuzzo, a professor of legal studies at UWS, and Tonya Sconiers, principal at Denfeld High School in Duluth, both experienced with bullying, lead the all-day session.

After setting the stage of what bullying is and how it operates in schools and workplaces, the session explores practical responses, tools and techniques to proactively and positively deal with bullying behavior. Participants will have many active learning and interactive opportunities to share their experiences and offer their suggestions on creating safe and positive work and school environments.

The deadline to register for the program is Wednesday. The event runs 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 16 in Swenson Hall Room 1056 at UWS.
