Beware of census-related scams
The Wisconsin Better Business Bureau is warning residents of U.S. Census related scams. President Randall Hoth says there are phony census emails circulating around, one that even falsely claims to be from the Better Business Bureau.
He says the concern is that as such deceptive emails come out, that's typically a setup for scammers to use this major public service activity to try to compromise people's identity.
Hoth says that the real 2010 Census survey will arrive by mail, not in e-mail inboxes. The Census will be mailed in mid-March.
