Barbara Bowker, 79, a resident of Bennett, died on Sunday, August 3, 2014, at the Middle River Nursing Home.
Barbara was born in Chicago, Ill. to parents Matheis and Violet Baggerson. She was raised in Zion, Ill. and on June 17, 1950, was united in marriage to Guy Bowker in Kenosha, Wis. The couple resided in Pleasant Prairie, Wis. where they raised their family. In 1977, they purchased their property in Bennett, and in 1989, they retired there. Barbara enjoyed flowers, gardening, watching birds, and playing Bingo.
Barbara is survived by her sons, David (Debra) Bowker of Racine, Wis., Jeffrey (Linny) Bowker Sr. of Bennett and Mike Bowker of Solon Springs; grandchildren, Jeffrey Jr. (Chelsie), Nichole, and Ailien Bowker, Rachel Rogers; great-granddaughter Fara Zach; sister Marge Scott of Red Bay, Ala., and several nieces and nephews.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband Guy on Dec. 7, 2003, and her parents.
Visitation will be from 12 Noon until the 1 p.m. funeral services on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014 at the Brown Funeral Home in Solon Springs with Rev. Nathan Winterhof officiating. Interment will be at the Bennett Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the Bennett Town Hall. Casket bearers will be Mike Bowker, Jeffrey Bowker Sr., Dave Bowker, Jeffrey Bowker Jr., Jon Olson, Rylan Colby. Online condolences may be left at www.brownfuneralhome.net.
