Apostle Islands visitor center opens for summer
The Apostle Islands National Lakeshore Visitor Center in the old Bayfield County Courthouse building on 415 Washington Avenue in Bayfield has reopened for the summer. From May 5-23, the visitor center will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The visitor center will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from May 24 through the end of September.
The Apostle Islands National Lakeshore Visitor Center features visitor information, a lighthouse exhibit, restrooms, a book store and sales area, and an award-winning 20-minute introductory film titled “On the Edge of Gichigami – Voices of the Apostle Islands.” Admission is free.
