Northwestern sweeps sectional cross country titles

Annual SPD bike auction goes virtual

Superior Telegram

The Superior Police Department auctions off unclaimed bicycles online this year.

Instead of inviting the public to stop by to look through the bikes, people can browse the selection of unclaimed bicycles at starting July 11.

The department has about 80 unclaimed bikes available to purchase. Anyone who has reported a lost or stolen bike can call 715-395-7234 prior to July 9 to make an appointment to view the bicycles. After that, they will all be posted through the Bid Superior site. The police department has been working with the Superior company for about a year to auction unclaimed property.

“We’ve been very happy with them,” said Deputy Chief Nick Alexander.

All proceeds from the bicycle sales benefit the Old Firehouse and Police Museum in Superior’s East End neighborhood.
