Alice C. Axt, 89, currently of Forest Lake, MN formerly a longtime Superior resident, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Birchwood Health Care Center in Forest Lake, MN.

She was born on February 12, 1925 in Denver, CO to Henry and Mamie (Ballinger) Claassen.

She was a member of the former First Presbyterian Church and the United Commercial Travelers where she was a former officer. Alice and her husband William were very active members.

Alice had been employed at Twin Ports Grocery for 14 years, retiring in 1981.

She had lived in Superior for many years, moving to Lake Nebagamon for 10 years and returning to Superior until she moved to Minneapolis in 2004 to be closer to her sons.

Alice is survived by two sons, Randolph Axt, Forest Lake, MN, Henry (Janice) Axt, Lino Lakes, MN; three grandchildren, Brant, Jessica and Shelby and one nephew, Bill Holton, Apple Valley, MN.

She was preceded in death by her husband William and her parents.

Visitation will begin at 12 Noon and will continue until the 1:00 PM funeral service on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at the United Presbyterian Church with Pastor Joel Huenemann, officiating.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
